Greetings all.

Well, I took the plunge and entered my name in the Sawdust Chronicles challenge.

Now all I have to do is come up with an idea, design an entry, build the darn thing, write about the inspiration and the build, take pictures, etc etc etc…

What have I done? ;)

Wish me luck. (I’m gonna need it)

So what kind of competition is it Tiny? I am rooting you on bud… But I feel like those cheerleaders on the side line during a Friday Night high school football game cheering when the other team scores…

The contest is a challenge to build something that expresses or features a surface. There are certain constraints, among them a size limit. It must fit in a 30” x 30” x 32” imaginary box. It must be wood, no man made materials like MDF. There are other limits and guidelines, but anyone interested in them can check it out on the sawdust chronicles web site.

I’m thinking of doing a rather unique side table with veneered top and support. More later as I finalize the design. I have until halloween to get it finished, so I have time to get the planning portion done to my liking.

If only my SketchUp skills were a bit better…

That makes two of us. Keeps in the “Know”.... I think in most instances challenges like this brings the best of us out. I for one can’t wait to see what you come up with…. Best of luck!
