FS- Millers Falls planes no. 8, 9C, 18C-SOLD - 11 replies
Here’s some Millers Falls hand planes I’ve decided to let go. I’m pretty sure they are all type 2s. They all have cocobolo handles (no ugly orange stain). The are all in very good shape with near full length blades. Probably 98% jappaning. Sharpened, and ready to go. Only flaws I know about. The no8 has a crack on the back ...

While I love me some Hand planes, Workbenches, Tool boxes and the like….my primary objective in woodworking is furniture making. I just wanna make quality furniture, and lots of it! So I thought it would be cool to have a forum on the subject of furniture making. We can post questions, techniques, and progress of our current builds̷...

I usually turn away away any and all refinishing jobs. But this pie safe has a lot of sentimental value to some friends…so I couldn’t turn it down. It’s laying in it side because the the tiny rear leg gave out. Shocker. I will have to rework those rear legs. It was a high school shop project in the 80’s. But it is all...

Surely I’m not. I’ve wrestled with a some A2 blades, both Hock and Veritas, I just don’t like them. Difficult to sharpen. Don’t get as sharp. Tend to chip and get toothy. Not crazy about the square top on the Hock, but their O2 blades seem to give me the best results. Even better than Veritas O2. Just curious if I was the...

Thinning the herd a little. Neither of these are showpieces, but the are very good users. The only reason I am selling is because I have multiples of each. Stanley Bailey No. 6: $45 shipped, US onlyI think this is a type 19 plane. Hence the painted handle and knob. This plane has been re-japanned by a previoius owner. And I do say “japa...

Hand plane Addicts Anonymous - 82 replies
Hi, my name is Red, and I am a hand plane addict. It’s been 3 days since my last plane purchase/restore. This all started last year when I got decent at sharpening. My wife even caught me selling old junk on ebay to support my little habit. Please say I’m not the only one….LOL.
