My workshop is my 2 car garage about 22 ft square. I have a 16ft workbench mounted to the wall with a Dewalt 10 inch radial arm saw built into the middle of the bench. I just completed my dream bench, which is a traditional cabinetmakers bench. It’s 84 inches long, 24 inches wide and 4 in thick of quartersawn white oak. The tail vise is honduras rosewood.
I have a 1950 8” Northfield jointer that is the pride of my shop. I drove 2,000 miles to get it and completely restored it to like new condition.
I have the following tools;
10” Dewalt radial arm saw built into my wall bench
Northfield 8 inch jointer 1950, 1150lbs.
10” Grizzly table saw with router table built into the extension table The outfeed table is my old workbench.
14” Jet band saw
Grizzly vac system
15” Delta floor planer
36” Rockwell Beaver lathe,
60 gallon upright air compressor
Bench drill press
I am a neantherthal hand tool user, as well as full portaible power tools.

I really enjoy shop pictures and your shop is the same size as yours, 22’x22’. But could you re-post the pictures in a larger size so we can really see your shop. The pictures you have posted now come out really small.

Bob, you have a nice shop space and it appears as if you have organized it well. I can well understand why the jointer is the “pride of your shop”. Going for an 8” model is the way to go. I have a 6” Powermatic and wish I had opted for an 8” one. I like the tablesaw set up as well. It is nice to have the space to keep the old workbench and get some use out of it. That is a wonderful new workbench too by the way.

Very nice shop filled with great deal of hand tools and ww machinery and of course the big workbench.

Your workbench is absolutely beaiutiful. My “cabinet makers” bench, while not nearly as nice as yours, has proven to be indespensible.
I lived in Fort Myers for 35 years, My shopsmith and I were limited to just a little over 1/2 of a “tight” two car garage.
