Bar Reclaimed Pine

This is not as exiting as the bookcase but I really love the look of the reclaimed old Pine and hemlock.
Bar rail was made in shop out of oak. All solid beams on corners and ends of the bar and back upper section also, they have so much character on their own.
Had to come up with a concealed angled cleat system (sort of like keyhole but much stronger) for the large beams hung on the wall. No visible fasteners!
We made flat panels with a custom milled applied molding, since no one makes moldings with reclaimed wood we always have to make our own.
Unfortunately the clients sold the house before we got to be served a drink. LOL
The last picture is the before shot.

Great Bookcase

This a bookcase made of solid Walnut and Walnut veneer. Custom was the understatement here.
The client has great taste and wanted something unique for their great room.
When we first saw the drawings we did not know how we were going to make the solid dome in the top section.
We have done many curved valances and curved crown mldg’s before, but the dome was never attempted.
It was actually truly enjoyable to figure out and put together, it required 4 men and a cable lift jack to hoist the one pc dome and upper valance on the top of the bookcase. Probably about 250lbs by itself.

Don’t know if we will ever get to make another one like it???
