In reference to my post in the forum section about Narra Parquet ... Target I have set is 40 boxes out of those recycled parquet. It is really a big effort to put these small pieces into a better look. Hard to meet the 40 but let us see the progress. To this point, I finished 10 pcs of 4×6 x 2 boxes and 6 pcis of 6×6 x 2 boxes. Part 2: The 2x6x6 box

The 2×6x6 boxes. What if 3 pieces of 2×6 inch parquet will be joined together and make it as the top (lid) and bottom of a box whose side is 2×6 on all. This has created a square box with depth of 2 inches. Here are some pictures… Some are pre-coated with gloss lacquer. It was easy to make the box without the lid… I can use my miter saw to cut it because the length of 6 inches will permit me to hold it firmly while cutting it on an angle of 45 degrees. Glu...

Part 3: The 6x12 Box - A big challenge!!!

Coming bigger and complicated… I like challenges…. THE 2 X 6 X 12 inches box... actual size made… 2-1/2×5-3/4×11-1/2 inchesI tried to glue end to end the two pieces of 2×6 parquets and create a 2×12 strip. Hand plane to size just to take out the paint and level it with others. It is difficult to press lengthwise. A stronger masking tape had help a lot and served like a clamp. Part 4: The 3x6x12 Dovetail with A-framing lid

Additional to these Narra parquet boxes is an experimental Aluminum framing on the lid plus division and tray. It turned out good. I have not finished yet the finishing and the lid handle so please bear with the raw unsanded pictures of the box… I just want you to see it prior finishing it. You can still spot the errors.
