I have been dabbling with woodworking since I was kid. I have been accumulating tools for decades which means I have some power tools that really need replacing. Although I have wanted to develop skills in furniture making (I intentionally avoided the term “fine furniture”) I have done very little of that. Except for jigs, the kids' toy boxes and a changing table most of my wood working has been refurbishing old houses and some cabinetry in old and new houses. I'll dig up some pictures of later projects. The earlier stuff was pre-digital. My kids' toy boxes are now used by my grandchildren. I love that. Lately I have discovered turning and have somehow become obsessed with it. I've taken two classes, bowls and natural edge bowls, and am now looking for a great deal on a lathe (the accumulation of tools never ends). Meanwhile I saw a sharpening jig for the bench grinder at a turner's demo. Got that made, all set for those gouges.
I've been poking around LumberJocks and am completely amazed and humbled by the projects you guys and gals have done. Maybe I won't post any of my projects. ;) I want to thank LJ member, “Cam”, for telling me about LJ. I met him at a yard sale just a couple of days ago. You never know where you're going to make a new friend. Maybe some here.
Best regards.
Berg
