« Part 2: Building Curved Legs and accent Panel Part 3 of Brynn's Desk Build series no next part

This is my 3rd and final video of this project. In this video I get really into my hand planing when building the top of the writing desk. I also show a bit of how I do drawer runners and some final assembly of attaching the top.

Having made a couple of dining tables, and finding final hand planing somewhat difficult, it never occured to me to climb up on the workbench like that. Was it hard on your back working bent over like that?

Not so much hard on my back, it actually helped stretch it out like doing a vigorous yoga pose. It was more hard on my knees. But the weight of my body behind the plane made it easier to push the plane as well as sitting on the top helped keep it stable. Planing like this helped keep my arms from tiring out too fast.

Very nice build. I like the drawer pulls. You are way more energetic than I am, perhaps a bit younger. I enjoyed the video.

There is much to like about your desk. The video was well made. Your planing technique, unique. Love it all favorited.
