Well, many of you know I don’t have alot of time….but I’ve been squeaking in some here and there to make my first bandsaw box….a few pictures if you please, Mr. Computer…I glues together a bunch of old drawer mistakes and pieces of processed American Elm to make the lump that’s becoming my first bandsaw box….I have a huge pile of American Elm lumber I’ve had a good 5 years now…but very little of it has been used….so why not make some...

Part 2: Drawers

I’m completed the glue-up of the drawers and hope to figure out what I want for pulls and for the final finish…probably Watco Danish Oil several coats or more….and for pulls….I’m still mulling what I want to do…it’s annoying to have 10 different ideas on what to make for drawer pulls….some good…some odd…some tough…I thought first that it would be fun to carve an eye for one, a nose for another and an ear for the third….th...

Part 3: Last stages

I’m getting closer to finishing this bandsaw box. The pulls were essentially carved using a bandsaw and one of my three Dremels. I decided that something more sculptural would be appropriate for the pulls and these pictures show what I’ve done with them. This also shows the first coat of Watco Natural Danish Oil….and I’ll let that sit a couple of day and do it again. The drawers are quite finished yet because they’ll be lined with elk hide.
