I’m completed the glue-up of the drawers and hope to figure out what I want for pulls and for the final finish…probably Watco Danish Oil several coats or more….and for pulls….I’m still mulling what I want to do…it’s annoying to have 10 different ideas on what to make for drawer pulls….some good…some odd…some tough…
I thought first that it would be fun to carve an eye for one, a nose for another and an ear for the third….then I thought glass eyes would be fun….then I have some piano keys of ebony that could be cut into small pulls….then I’ve thought of some other organic type pulls I’d have to carve….probably with a Dremel….we’ll all know what I decided by the end of the week….I guess I just have to do something instead of mulling over every option in my head fifty times. I have become my own problem to solve. It’s now sanded to 220. Then 320 and 400…finishing is at least 50 per cent of project…and probably more in some cases…I wonder if others have this same thought….or does it follow the old 80/20 rule….” you spend 80 per cent of the time on 20 percent of the project” or “you spend 80 per cent of effort….”

looking good barry
you certainly cleaned it up nice
i never made one
just grabbed a piece of 2×4 and cut away
to show someone how it is done
in reading both of these blogs of yours
i see there are small details i never gave any thought to
so i am glad you brought them up
i would have just stumbled through it
and learned the hard way
and about those 10,000 steps ahead
did you ever consider i might just be lost
and wandering around
looking for a way out

David, if you’re lost….and I read that angry post you made earlier today on the fan….we’re all lost and wandering in the wilderness….hoping a check comes in this week here….there’s a couple of auctions of people who had shops here….so I’m probably gonna get more lost…see you out there in the darkness….or is that just octopus ink…my budget at the auction would probably be only $50 or 75 since we’re poor….oh, David, this thing is so full of mistakes….but each one has sorta been overcome…with a work around….that’s why Doctors say they’re in practice….but woodworkers? what the heck are we doing….by the way, I really like American Elm….it works very nicely…
@ RedRyder…my brain hurts from thinking about it…

Barry, this is looking pretty good. I can empathize with you about the pulls decision. Decisions such as these are what usually slows me down as well.
