I’m just bought a home in South Alabama that is on an old Pecan farm.
I haven’t counted the trees…although mature….maybe 300 of them.
I want to harvest and sell the wood. What is the best way to do it.?

Are you looking at a DIY approach of are you more interested in having someone come in and buy the standing timber, log it and take it away?

At the price of pecans around here, you might make more money harvesting the pecans (if the trees are still producing).

We don’t sell our lumber but we have a sawyer (with portable mill) come in periodically and cut for our personal use, so we can’t offer you much advice. There are several sawyers on here that might be able to help you though. Best wishes.
