Location: Pflugerville, TX (Suburb of Austin - Central TX)
Website:
I'm Bob and I live in Pflugerville (the P is silent) Texas which is a suburb of Austin, the capital of Texas. I'd like to tell you how I got here and how I picked the name "Back tothe Wood".
When I was in High School, my Dad set up a small wood shop in our basement. The only power tools were a TS, jointer and a lathe. Everything else was by hand - a brace and bits for drilling, etc. I went off to college, had a job, married, raised a family and finally retired. (That seems a lot quicker than it really happened.)
I didn't like this retired stuff. A friend mentioned volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and I've been doing it ever since.
I got so excited about this, I started buying used tools for myself and started re-learning. So now I am "Back to the Wood" and glad to be here.

Hi, all. I’ve been reading posts and looking at projects here for a while and it seems like a very friendly, supportive group and resource so I decided I’d better get in. I noticed that all the welcomers have been LJ’s for a while. I’ll have to make sure I make it a habit to check on newcomers. It does mean a lot.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
