no previous part Part 1 of Porch Glider series Part 2: Template and final »

My wife wanted a new porch glider. I purchased plans from Wood Craft. It has an apple design in the back and two sides. I decided to change it to an Irish trefoil knot.

There was significantly more waste than I anticipated. A lot of wasted wood to avoid big knots.

Here are some partially assembled pieces. I’m disappointed with the varnish finish. I rushed things. I should have diluted the varnish and applied additional coats. I’ll post a picture after final assembly.

Great start to a fine finish.
