Welcome, you’re just what we need, another artist.

Thanks for the welcome from you both. Yes, I am an artist but have not made anything in wood. I am looking for directions for a Inkle loom, they look so simple to make.

Woodworkers and weavers have a long history together so maybe someone will have an idea. Good luck

Diane – Well I checked out what an Inkle Loom is and it looks facinating! I think anything we do with our hands is very therapeutic and rewarding. I was amazed at how many furniture quality inkle looms I found with a basic internet search. Bleow are a couple of links that might be helpful.

Wow, David the first link you posted I found after days of looking, actually I found that one yesterday. The second one looks pretty good the best I’ve seen for directions to make one. I really can’t make one myself, I was thinking of asking someone I know. I will have to do more reading to see how to use this thing first. I will post another link I found incase someone is interested enough to learn this craft. http://www.dickblick.com/zz650/07/ sells one, if I buy one I might get it from them since it is local and they take returns if there is a problem.

Here is the site that I found that seems to have the best directions on how to use these looms. http://inkleweaving.com/

Diane – very intersting link, thanks! Sure looks pretty simple to build. Just need to be sure to make it sturdy enough for the stress of weaving. Hopefully someone local will be able to assist you.

Thanks Bill. Everyone calls me Dianne, I keep wondering how everyone seems to know I’m french when I spell my name Diane. Every board I post on people call me this, people must just know somehow sure wish I knew how that could be. I don’t mind being called by either just amazing me every time it happens.

Bill, just saw your painter’s box, I love it I am a painter. Maybe I will stay with this group for awhile I might buy something along the way.
