« Part 1: Planning and math. Part 2 of Building my first workbench. series no next part

2 2×4x48” – found these at the Habitat today. Both are exactly 48 inches long, and in fairly good shape. One has glue leavings on two sides of it, so will only be suitable for part of the base, not the bench top. Today was also a 50% off day, so I got them for half price. Total cost: 1.06 USD

This is about my price point for seconds lumber – I can buy a new 2×4x8” at the BigBix for about 2 dollars, so I need to stay under a dollar per 4’ to save money. If it hadn’t been half price day, it wouldn’t have been worth it to pick up these two lengths.
