« Part 8: Wire brushes and brooms. Part 9 of Random shop notes series no next part

I’ve been working on my shop the past few days, getting stuff that isn’t mine out of it, and starting to move tools and furniture into their proper places. I moved the utility shelf I am going to keep into it’s spot, and the shop vac into it’s tentative home in the back corner. The large scroll saw is now in the shop, but in the space where my workbench will go—I think it will stay oriented as it is, jutting out from the wall. It will probably go to the left of the workbench. I’ve still got a bunch of stuff to move out, and the Maypole needs to be hung up properly out of the way against the ceiling, but it is progress.

And I found a nice accessory – an antique bench jack. It was stuck in a pile of random stuff at the local Habitat shop. It needs a little re-hab—some oil to smooth out the screw motion, and I think the notches might need a little shaping up, but it is an awesome jig and I am happy to have found it. I love the details on it – obviously made with care.

Good for you. Have fun getting things set up, and I like the jack as well.
