I don't know... But this stain don't look right.... - 21 replies

Getting ready to stain a project. Brand new cannot Rustoleum Early American stain. When I opened it I thought it looked a little light. Then I went to stir and found crud all settled to the bottom. Of course it was the last can in this color. Does this need to just be mixed well??? Or is it old and needs to be taken back?

"...Building the finish..." - CN Looking back and this is so true - 15 replies

So… I’ve been looking back at some of my old projects. Once I started getting better (not great… just better) at the cutting and assembly of my projects, I’d be pretty happy with my project… till I’d get to the finishing. Then everything would fall apart. And the wonderful project I had just been working on is...

Going from a pallet bench and plastic tables outside to a small one car garage of my very...

So… After being sick most of last week and all four kids being on fall break this week… I haven’t had much time to get on LJ’s. Plywood is not my friend. - 34 replies

Well… Usually I get all my lumber free. Needed to buy some plywood though. That’s one thing I never find free. So I went to Lowes and bought me a sheet of 1/4 pine ply. Wasnt sure of the exact dimensions (plus I don’t trust their measuring). So instead I just had them cut it in half for easier transport. Ugh! Yep̷...

I guess some cleaning is in order.... - 51 replies

I walked into my shop and just froze at the door. Somehow in my mind… I had left it a bit cleaner than this. Looks like I’m going to need to do some cleaning up. I’m a messy woodworker and throw things everywhere… But what the heck was I thinking? I usually don’t leave it this much of a mess. Maybe it just says that...
