Good morning, just got back from court to see my friend’s ex sentencing.
Based on the medical evidence and his previous convictions for violence in pubs/clubs the judge had enough and he sentenced my friend’s ex (see previous blog) to 22 months jail with a non-parole period of 18 months! There is justice in the world.
So tonight a bottle or two or three or…. of wine will be consumed.
Aside from that I have been spending a lot of time make a cat run for our seven cats will post pics soon.
Hugs
Belinda

I know your friend is relieved and feels much safer tonight. Your friendship and support through this ordeal must mean so much to her.
Looking forward to the pics of the kitty run!

I am sure that your friend is happy to be done with this process that always seems to take to long.

Hello Belinda – Good to hear, now don’t consume all that wine and go turn on table saw. LOL.
Looking forward to your next project. I’m about to post another, probably tomorrow. – Dan

Sorry to read your tragic story. You are a real gem sticking with your friend in her time of need. It’s hard for me to understand how anyone could beat anyone or anything, but at least he’s got some time to think about his behavior. Good luck with your projects down under ;-)

I am glad to hear this result. I few years ago I was on a jury in a similar case. It was a very sad situation with young children in the family. We found the man guilty. Afterwords, the judge stopped by to thank us for the decision and gave us some background on the man that was not allowed in the trial. This made me even more sure that we had made the right decision. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Congtats to you and your friend. To many times these things never make it to court because the victims change thier mind about pressing charges. Once again go back and reread what jockmike2 said 75 days ago.

Glad that you have become a member of her support group. Glad that you’ve allowed us to help also.
Some people never grow up and think that beating up someone is the thing to do. Glad that he got a wake-up call. I hope that he will never forget it.
