Woodworking in anger part 2

Just a quick update.

Firstly thank-you to everyone who sent me messages.

Well after a very busy day yesterday moving my friends stuff out of her house into mine (she has seen the light after he tried to hit her again). He is currently in the local lockup being processed and we took all that is hers out of the house and she is getting a friend whose husband to drive her to <hidden> where she will be safe and can start to rebuild her life.

Anyhow this afternoon we were enjoying a cuppa and she asked me about my wood working, if I had made anything lately – I decided not to tell her about my latest exploit. She saw a few of my pens and said whistfully that she wished she had the skill to turn. Not one to turn down an opportunity to bring more non-woodworking heathens into the fold and taking into account her broken ankle I brought my pen lathe inside to the dining table. A couple of failed attempts and she made a pen for herself. Not strictly woodworking as it was an acrylic blank, but I find they tend to be more forgiving and her lack of mobility would limit her movements.

An eventful week but in the end for the better.

She is lucky it ended so safely and nonviolently. You might want to take actions to prevent him taking it out on you.

just look at all the good stuff that has come her way in the past few days… good for her to make the decision to change her life and then to act on it!

Big hugs to her and her support system.

If we all had one wish in life, it would be to have a friend like you.

Relax people, he is a weedy individual with not much IQ to back him up and a coward to boot. I have a blue and brown belt in martial arts and taught situational awareness by the Defence Department. Not to mention the guy next door is a close friend & a security gaurd with 2 very large dogs who looks out for me. If all else fails I can throw one of my seven cats at him.

Thanks for caring everyone.
