My wife and I just returned from a trip to “Amish Country” in Holmes County, Ohio. We spent a day and a half eating, shopping for quilt material and visiting many craft stores. My wife was happy doing all this but I was very happy when we entered Keim Lumber in Charm, Ohio. This place is the greatest and it is much more than a lumber yard.

They had the best exotic lumber that I have ever seen and it was all in great shape. Here is a photo of part of their lumber display.

Their prices were reasonable and the selection was huge. There were many exotics that I had never even heard of.

If you are anywhere near central Ohio, this is a must stop. The store is beautiful and there are lots of other things to see. There is even a restaurant on the upper level. Check out their website at http://www.keimlumber.com.

Looks like a great place to shop, as long as your money holds out and your truck does not get overloaded.
What did you buy, and what are you planning on making? I have never taken my wife to Superior Hardwoods
in Missoula or Buckeye Hardwood in Arlee, if curious you can google and look at them, I am over budget on
wood and do not want to go take pictures. Most women do not understand the cost of wood until they
see the finished product and I am happy with that.

I have considered the trip from Springfield, OH to Kiem several times. Thanks for the review. You have raised my desire to make the trip.

A very nice selection of exotic, they also make custom trim moldings, doors, windows.
A very nice choice for hardware and tool shoping also.

Don’t also deliver to my House!

So glad you were able to visit Amish Country recently. You are so right about Keim Lumber. My good fortune, I was sales reps for Hillmnan Fastener for many years and my two largest customers were Keim and Hartville Hardware. My sales calls to those stores required double the time, because so much time was spent drooling over tool selection and wood selection. Such a terronlke position I am in, less than 60 minutes driving time to either store.
If you are in the area again, plans to visit Hartville Hardware. There is a complete house constructed inside the store for “ideas”
