« Part 1: Aaaaand they're off! Part 2 of Vroom Vrrrooooom! (race car bed) series Part 3: Crossing the Finish Line »

The bed is nearly complete, just a little more painting to do. This weekend the in-laws are coming to help me get it from the garage to my son’s 2nd floor bedroom. Every day he asks me, “Is my car bed ready? Are you still painting? Can I see it?”

Note to self: Never again shall my wife be allowed to apply, nay, inflict paint on a project which I have built.

She knows how to do it properly, but lacks the patience and thus the bed required 4 coats to get it evened out. I believe she must have been actually scrubbing the paint on as opposed to brushing it because she left brush marks of such a bizarre pattern that M.C. Escher would be scratching his head and saying, “What the $%@#?!”

This coming weekend – the shed is going up so the back half of the garage will be relieved of all of it’s contents, lawn care tools, etc. so that I can wall it off, install a locking door and begin making a real dedicated shop. Can’t wait!

-- We may never know who let the dogs out, but I'd bet anything PETA was involved.

Congradulations on nearing a deticated shop and nearing the completion of your car bed.
