« Part 2: Step One: Grip It and Rip It Part 3 of Gun Cabinet series Part 4: Top cabinet construction »

After achieving the desired lengths and widths for the initial top and bottom cabinets, my wood shop teacher and I thought it’d be appropriate to start the build from the bottom (cabinet) up. However, after cutting the initial dados for the base of the cabinet, we discovered the top surface was not the desired width. This was probably due to the fact that running a 4×8 sheet of plywood through a small shop table saw is difficult (especially when three different people have hands on the board). So, after some re-measuring and ripping the widths down by (what I believe) was 3/4” we achieved the appropriate fit of the base.

I’m not bored I just felt that you deserved some recognition. I had some time (that I barely did in class) to post and I took advantage of it. I apologize for not posting sooner, but hey, at least it’s on lumberjocks for the world to see now. Thanks for helping me with this awesome project tooch!
