Excellent video, it’s always fun to see a sculpture emerge from a block of wood.
What did you use to create the burn marks around the rim?
Smart of you to apply the finish while it is still turning, I never would have thought of that.
I have got to get myself a lathe !!

Nice video! I have never saw a block of wood truned into something. I don’t have a lathe but I can see a lot of fun using one.

Alex, that is a great idea and someone is going to be very happy to have it. The only thing I would be careful of is at around the four minute mark there was a shadow of what appeared to be a strap on the side of the head stock from possibly your respirator. Not sure how close it was but you could see it. Just please be careful. Accidents happen very fast.
