I started doing some basic woodworking while renovating our house, and really enjoyed it. I also seem to like all the high quality furniture, cabinets, etc. that I see, but can't afford to buy them so I have grand visions of building my own. I joined this group because of all the great posts and people willing to share their knowledge.

Similar to how hardwoods like birtch and maple get black ink-like lines spiderwebbing thourgh the wood is called spalting and boxeldar gets the reds and the pinks that mable the wood. It’s accually the begining of the rotting proccess. Pine gets a blue gray to a black patching or streaking in the wood. I have even seen purples, its beautiful! Keep an eye out on my project page this week I’ll put the bed up.
