I was wondering who uses hardwood dowels and what sizes are the most common. I am asking becouse I am getting some knives made for my moulding machine to make dowels. I know turners use them for mills and such. I am going to ask this on a few forums to try and get the widest feedback.

How do I lay this out? I am going to make a dining room table for the wife and need to figure out how to lay it out. It is going to be about 40” wide x 72” long. Two pedestals for the base and and will have two leafs for the middle. Of course the shape will change when it is opend up.

I am thinking of using plwood to make some hollow legs for the table. Anyone see a reason way it would not work? The legs will be about 3” square. The board would be miterd to hide the edge of the ply and joind with biscuits. From there I plan on mounting the legs on the inside of a skirt/apron and set a torsion box on top of it.

Here is the problem, My shop that I am moveing into is concrte indecent shape. The problem is ther is alot of old paint on the floor and I want to remove it to put on some something that help make it brighter in there. A freind recommended some suflairic(sp?) acid.
