This cabinet is is made of knotty Redwood. Most people use clear pine, but I feel that Redwood is more beautiful and has similar tonal qualities. Both Pine and Redwood are evergreen coniferous species. Redwood grows way faster than pine, so it is a readily available and guilt-free wood. Its softness helps it resonate better. The baffle is 3/4 birch ply. The braces are made from the same 16 foot Redwood board that this beast came from.

I personally like knots. They add character and are a rewarding challenge to work with.

This cabinet is getting it’s baffle holes cut in the next day or two. It will house two 15” speakers made for guitar. It is being made for serious bottom end. The back baffle (pictured with cat) will have a racetrack shaped cutout. This monster will be for sale. I recommend using the Eminence BIG BEN.

Nice Cab! And with two 15’s in there, it’ll really thump. Sound sample once it’s done?
