“My” workshop is currently set up at my brothers place, 12 miles away. Kind of a pain, but hey I have more space than I can use. Will upload pics soon…

Well I took some pics. The building is approximately 40×100. My brother runs a HVAC business, and is nice enought to let me use space in the rear of the building. I’m trying (most of the time) unsuccessfully, to use around 20×24. Cooling that kind of space in NC is a real pain so I use box fans, but hey I have a shop, which is more than I can say for my own house… Maybe some day. I need to get things better organized as you can see, but hey it’s a work in progress.

TOOLS:

Table Saw: Delta Contractor – recently added 30” Unifence and 50” extension wing of MDF and red oak.

Drill Press (My Brothers): Craftsman 20” 2HP, need to replace the bearing the the quill rides in.

Jointer: Brand unknown – bought from craigs list, works ok.

Planer: Grizzly G1021 – still needs some setup work, had to rebuild the whole thing. Thanks to Bob Vaugn and many others @ OWWM for pointing me to good resources.

Miter Saw (My Bothers): Porter Cable 12” – in need of setup/calibration in a bad way.

Dust Collection: Shop vac for miter saw, Delta single stage for everything else (freebie from bro’s employee).

Band Saw: Getting ready to buy searching the boards.

Benches: Doors on saw horses, for now.

I love getting out to the shop, and I love having all of the space I have, but frankly it’s a bit of a pain to travel 12 miles (one-way) to “play”. It doesn’t look like much – to me – but I am going to start building my bench and assembly table soon. I have to. Pregnant neice needs a crib, and bro wants a booth for the eat-in kitchen, and don’t get me started on what the wife wants.

If you want to my real “shop” at my house look at my project carport cleanup.

I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your shop. I find visual tours of other shops to be an interesting part of this community.

Matt,

You have a wonderful space for your shop. It is nice of your brother to let you use part of the building to make some sawdust in. I really like the wood flooring. It is so much easier to work on as compared with concrete. Your space is nice and you have some nice tools to play with. I would enjoy working in there.

Thanks for the shop tour. I enjoyed visiting with you.
