I was kindly given this bit of lumber by Larry at “the wood store” just south of Morgantown. it came from a single ~6” wide board that was a bit warped. he planed it down a bit and cut it at the knots to make it easier to handle. I think i’ll use that piece on the right for the base, since it has some nice symmetric grain. The rest of it should be plenty for the lamp, since i calculated using about a board-ft for the rest of it. sweet.
