Im thinking about getting a router table. I relize you can build your own what would you guys reccomend?
I make alot of boxes and molding but the past 3 years of woodworking ive never got one. If the router tale dosent come with a router than I dont want to spend more than $140.

I have a little cheap Ryobi table that I got from Home Depot that was $99 with the router included. It was a pleasant surprise. The fence was not too bad. The router has a through the base adjustment so you don’t have to fumble below the table for setting the height. Only real flaws are that it has a fairly modest power rating, only 1/4 in. bit capacity, single speed, and a smallish table. No, it is not the same as my Incra setup with a hefty Triton hanging from it but if you don’t feel like building one and are not swinging large bits I can’t say too much bad about it.

My suggestion would be to build it. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. It can simply be a router screwed to a piece of plywood on a couple of sawhorses with a 2×4 for a fence.

Here are some search results just from LJ. Router Table

here is a video on a recent router table build. Pt. 1 Pt. 2

I/ve had the Rockler router table top for well over 10 years. There’s much better out there but the price was less than the others and it has worked fine for all these years. You might have a hard time finding new a router table top & router for $140. Might want to check on CraigsList and Ebay. Good luck.
