I have been a faithful reader of this forum for quite a while and finally got up the nerve to join. You guys and gals are such tremendous crafts people and I just wanted to say, it is an honor and a privilege to be able to talk wood with all of you. A bit about me. I am retired Air Force, having spent 18 years as both an active duty and reservist JAG. I am an attorney full time but really, I am a woodworker full time. I started working wood in 1987 by fixing a picnic table in my back yard. I’ve progressed to being able to make and sell items through a local art gallery which seeks to do an exhibit of my work this November. I’m scared to death. I am self taught in all aspects of the craft but I have been immeasurably helped by being able to connect on forums like this one and obtain advice and ideas from some great people. Soooooooooo. now i’m here and looking forward to being a regular contributor. I make clocks and antique reproduction pieces, and some of my own designs. From time to time, I make pens. I LOVE the challenge of wood finishing. Hope none of you mind a few dumb questions from time to time. I still have so much to sort out in this great craft. God Bless.
