can anyone tell me who it was who decided that smaller diameter drill bits had to get progressively shorter as diameter diminished? why cant my one sixteenth drill bit be just as long as its larger brother? I know I can buy longer bits in all sizes but in the sets you always get the short ones. dont they know that drill bits feel bad enough being small without being short too? I know that longer small drill bits can break easier but I can break the short one just as easily. maybe they think the bits are more appealing in the graduated display?
